The Making of ClearJump Products
ClearJump uses a variety of proprietary (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Visual C++) and Open Source tools to develop its products. In support of the
Open Source community, this page highlights the Open Source products that we find particularly helpful in our work as they may be helpful to you as well.
Development
- GCC: The GNU Compiler Collection
- GCC development is a part of the GNU Project, aiming to improve the compiler used in the GNU system including the GNU/Linux variant. Currently GCC contains front ends for C, C++, Objective C, Chill, Fortran, and Java as well as libraries for these languages (libstdc++, libgcj,...).
Documentation & Editors
- jEdit
- jEdit is a mature programmer's editor written in Java. With its extensive plug-ins, jEdit's capabilities are extensive and customizable.
- DOC++
- DOC++ is a documentation system for C, C++, IDL and Java generating both TeX output for high quality hardcopies and HTML output for sophisticated online browsing of your documentation. The documentation is extracted directly from the C/C++/IDL header/source files or Java class files.
- OpenOffice.org

- Wine
- Wine is an implementation of the Windows 3.x and Win32 APIs on top of X and Unix. Think of Wine as a Windows compatibility layer. Wine provides both a development toolkit (Winelib) for porting Windows sources to Unix and a program loader, allowing unmodified Windows 3.1/95/NT binaries to run under Intel Unixes. Wine works on most popular Intel Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris.
Web Services
- SourceForge.net
- SourceForge.net is the world's largest Open Source development website, with the largest repository of Open Source code and applications available on the Internet. SourceForge.net provides free services to Open Source developers, including project hosting, version control, bug and issue tracking, project management, backups and archives, and communication and collaboration resources.
Note: Only Open Source projects are hosted on SourceForge.net. For example, ClearJump does not have its entire site hosted by SourceForge.net, only its Open Source products.
